Insero Talent Solutions has partnered with a rapidly growing commercial, industrial, and civil construction and vegetation management Company based in Rochester to recruit a Purchasing Manager.
Company Summary:
Our client brings over 20 years of excellence with offices in Rochester, New York and Maine. The Company's focus was on Civil Construction and included services such culvert work, access roads, and in-ground construction projects. Over time, their service offerings expanded to include Vegetation Management specializing in land clearing, environmental matting, and utility line clearance.
Position Summary:
The Purchasing Manager is responsible for developing and implementing strategies for purchasing materials, equipment, and services for construction projects, ensuring they are delivered on time and within budget while meeting quality standards.
Primary responsibilities include sourcing and negotiating with vendors, managing contracts and supplier relations, monitoring market trends, inventory levels, collaborating with project teams, and ensuring compliance with company policies and regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
Developing and implementing effective strategies for sourcing and acquiring construction materials, equipment, and services to support project goals.
Identifying, evaluating, and selecting reliable suppliers and subcontractors, and negotiating contracts to secure favorable pricing and terms.
Managing procurement contracts throughout the project lifecycle, including submittals, and adjusting terms as needed.
Monitoring market prices and trends to forecast costs, identify opportunities for savings, and ensure purchases remain within budget.
Evaluating the quality and cost-effectiveness of materials and services and ensuring they meet project specifications.
Coordinating the timely delivery of materials to job sites to prevent project delays.
Working closely with project managers, accounting, and other stakeholders to understand project requirements and align procurement with overall objectives.
Assessing and mitigating risks associated with the supply chain, such as price fluctuations, tariff issues, or supplier reliability.
Maintaining accurate records of all procurement activities and ensuring compliance with company policies, regulations, and ethical standards.
Monitoring inventory levels, analyzing demand, and placing orders to ensure sufficient stock without excess.
