Job Title: Millwright Mechanic

Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Millwright Mechanic to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for operating welding equipment, monitoring welding processes, and providing assistance as needed throughout the facility.

Responsibilities

• Weld components in flat, vertical, or overhead positions using manual or semi-automatic welding equipment.
• Operate welding equipment using processes such as gas tungsten arc, gas metal arc, flux-cored arc, plasma arc, shield metal arc, resistance welding, and submerged arc welding.
• Monitor the fitting, burning, and welding processes to prevent overheating, warping, shrinking, distortion, or expansion of materials.
• Provide backup or assistance throughout the yard as needed or assigned.
• Report equipment deficiencies or malfunctions requiring maintenance or repair to the supervisor.
• Maintain all shielded metal arc and gas metal arc welding equipment and replace as needed.

Essential Skills

• Experience with electrical, hydraulics, mechanical, and welding operations.
• Proficiency in reading blueprints and performing repairs.
• Industrial troubleshooting and maintenance skills.
• Experience with pneumatics, installation, and maintenance repair.
• Ability to conduct preventive and corrective maintenance.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Heavy industrial maintenance experience.
• Flux core welding experience.
• Experience with hand and power tools.
• Electrical experience.

Work Environment

This position is based in a waste/recycling plant and requires working on the 2nd shift. Training will be provided on the 1st shift for a duration of 3-6 months to ensure familiarity with the equipment.

Job Type & Location

This is a Permanent position based out of Charlestown, Massachusetts.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $50000.00 - $100000.00/yr.

This is a fully onsite position in Charlestown,MA.
