As a Machine Learning Engineer, you’ll tackle complex, ambiguous challenges, transforming them into end-to-end solutions that drive Tesla’s mission. What You'll Do Design, develop, and implement machine learning models for insurance, safety score and customer support environments using techniques like supervised learning, convolutional neural networks, and tools such as PyTorch and PandasCollaborate with engineering teams, operations, and customer support teams to address operational challengesTake ownership of production models, ensuring robust alerting systems for rapid issue resolutionWork with diverse, heterogeneous datasets (text, voice, images, tabular data) to build scalable solutionsTranslate ambiguous problem statements into actionable, end-to-end machine learning modelsFollow agile development practices and maintain high standards for clean, modular, and sustainable code
What You'll Bring In-depth expertise in Python for high-performance, data-intensive applicationsProficiency with at least one modern deep learning framework (e.g., PyTorch, JAX, TensorFlow)Specialized knowledge in areas such as large language models, recommender systems, or operations researchStrong foundational understanding of statistics for model comparison and performance evaluationReal-world experience deploying and maintaining production machine learning systemsPassion for writing clean, modular, and sustainable code to transition research into productionDegree in Computer Science, Data Science, or equivalent experienceExperience in fintech, insurance, or high-scale systems is highly desirable

Expected Compensation
$164,480 - $355,920/annual salary + cash and stock awards + benefits
Pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements dependent on the position offered.
