Job Description

The Farm To X- Educational Tour Guide will lead farm-based tours and educational experiences designed for students, families, and community groups. This role requires strong communication skills, enthusiasm for agriculture and education, and the ability to engage audiences of all ages. Tour Guides represent Farm To X on-site at partner farms, delivering memorable experiences that align with our educational goals.Key ResponsibilitiesLead interactive tours and activities at partner farms, ensuring participants are engaged and informed.Deliver age-appropriate educational content about farming, sustainability, nutrition, and the connection to daily life.Facilitate hands-on activities (e.g., planting, harvesting, animal care demonstrations).Ensure safety and supervision of participants during farm experiences.Collaborate with Farm To X staff and farm partners to prepare for tours.Provide feedback after tours to help improve programs and experiences.Represent Farm To X with professionalism, enthusiasm, and reliability.QualificationsExperience in education, youth programming, or tour guiding preferred.Interest or background in agriculture, food systems, or environmental science.Strong communication and public speaking skills.Ability to adapt to different age groups (elementary through high school, as well as adults).Dependable, punctual, and comfortable working outdoors in variable conditions.Must pass background check.Access to reliable transportation.Compensation & ScheduleContractor/part-time role, scheduled based on tour bookings (primarily weekdays, with occasional weekends).Compensation: $25$40/hour (based on experience and program type).
