As Director of Behavioral Health Services, you will lead the administration and delivery of Behavioral Health programs, ensuring quality, compliance, and client-centered care. Working closely with staff, leadership, and community partners, you will oversee budgets, grants, training, and service provision, including 24/7 programming. This hands-on role blends program management with collaboration across teams to support a trauma-informed, evidence-based approach that promotes dignity, well-being, and inclusion.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee Behavioral Health service delivery: schedule/lead meetings, supervise managers and direct service staff
  • Ensure implementation and compliance with Trauma-Informed Care
  • Conduct timely performance appraisals, corrective counseling, and disciplinary actions
  • Maintain licensure and accreditation requirements
  • Collaborate with Leadership/Finance on budget development; monitor spending and approve expenditures
  • Review billing, productivity, and program reports; address issues to meet goals
  • Manage caseloads and productivity levels for Case Managers, Therapists, and Mentors
  • Develop/update policies, procedures, SOPs, and training manuals; ensure staff training and compliance
  • Train staff on EHR functionality, forms, and documentation
  • Update and monitor progress on the Strategic Plan quarterly
  • Prepare/submit division and program reports (outcomes, metrics, stats, waitlists) to CEO
  • Ensure staffing levels meet program needs
  • Address client complaints per policy; notify CEO of client safety or agency risks
  • Keep CEO informed of issues affecting agency functioning or public image
  • Attend meetings as assigned by CEO
  • Track and analyze client/program outcomes to ensure quality services
  • Support grant applications for program growth/expansion
  • Stay current on mental health treatment trends; advise CEO on emerging issues
  • Build/maintain effective relationships with staff, program managers, funders, providers, and referral sources
  • Ensure HIPAA compliance, confidentiality, and respectful communication
  • Follow Code of Ethics, HR policies, and complete required documentation
  • Partner with HR on recruiting, hiring, and onboarding staff
  • Complete all other assigned duties to support quality, consistent service delivery
  • Maintain regular, reliable, and predictable attendance

Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in Human Services (required)
  • LCPC or LCSW (required)
  • 5+ years in a leadership role with increasing responsibility
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Teams
  • Delivers quality, timely work with minimal oversight; effectively manages time, priorities, and resources
  • Adjusts to changing needs, conditions, and responsibilities with ease
  • Maintains strict discretion regarding financial, client, and agency information
  • Generates new ideas and solutions for complex challenges
  • Makes informed, timely decisions that balance facts, risks, and goals
  • Demonstrates honesty, professionalism, and consistency in all interactions
  • Develops and sustains respectful, cooperative relationships with staff, clients, and stakeholders
  • Fosters collaboration and shared commitment to achieve organizational goals

Compensation

  • Salary: $80,000 - $90,000
