Your Role: Art Teacher

As an Art Teacher, you will play a vital role in shaping the creative minds of our students. Here’s what you’ll be doing:

  • Ensure Qualifications: Become highly qualified and certified, holding a bachelor’s degree and state certification to teach in public schools.
  • Engagement: Be present and engaged from 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM, Monday through Friday, throughout the school year.
  • Student Supervision: Provide appropriate supervision during class, breaks, meals, and transitions to maintain a safe and optimal learning environment.
  • Event Participation: Attend events outside of normal school hours, such as family nights, student performances, and parent conferences.
  • Curriculum Development: Research, design, and document art standards and curricula for students in grades K-8.
  • Art Instruction: Teach art to all students Monday through Thursday and lead after-school enrichment programs as needed.
  • Program Management: Design, supervise, and implement all aspects of the Art program, including coordination with outside providers.
  • Collaboration: Work with classroom teachers to integrate academic instruction into art lessons.
  • Community Engagement: Involve families in their children’s education through art concerts and other activities.
  • Continuous Improvement: Participate in department meetings and collaborate on curriculum development.

  • Experience:
    • 1-2 years of experience impacting K-12 students in urban schools is preferred.
    • A bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution is required. Certification is not mandatory at hiring but must be pursued during employment.

Compensation

The salary for this role ranges from $50,000 to $64,700 , based on factors such as relevant teaching experience and educational certifications.
