ROLE IMPACT
The Accounting Specialist supports critical financial operations by ensuring timely and accurate processing of payables, receivables, reconciliations, and grant billing. This role helps maintain compliance with internal policies and external funding requirements while enabling program sustainability through precise financial tracking and reporting.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
• Process and reconcile vendor invoices, deposits, and receipts to appropriate accounts
• Bill grants and contracts with proper backup documentation
• Prepare and reconcile monthly bank statements and financial reports
• Manage and close credit card transactions using Concur
• Support payroll, timesheet processing, and expense tracking
• Maintain confidentiality across personnel, client, and financial records
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
• Associate's degree in Accounting or equivalent experience
• 1–4 years of general accounting experience (A/P, A/R, General Ledger, 401(k), Payroll)
• Proficiency in MS Word and MS Excel
• Experience using Sage MIP or comparable accounting software
